“Three years ago my wife Gail, and I visited St. David's Episcopal Church at Wayne, Pa. located on Valley Forge Road. There is a old book written by Henry Pleasant which gives the history of the original Stone church complete in 1715. The church was founded by William Davis married to Ann Miles and son of William Davis original immigrant to Pa. William Davis in a dispute with his father who was a Quaker reverted back to the church of England, he was also a member of the Pennsylvania Assembly for 1712-1713. He founded the church in his home at Radnor, Chester Co. in 1704. And donated the land, which the church grounds occupy. The stone church is noted for the craftsmanship of it's construction. Today the church is only used for special events, a newer third church is across the road. Today the church has a congregation of over 900 people. The church served as a hospital in the Rev. War. and there is a story that during the War the Lead based widows were melted down for Musketballs. Brig. Gen. Anthony Wayne a member of the church is buried with a prominent headstone near the entrance to the church.” - Jim Davis of Hawaii
